Spring Fling will help neighbors in need

Submitted by St. Vincent de Paul

On May 18-19, the St. Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Mary’s Church in Elgin will hold its seventh annual “Spring Fling,” a fundraiser to help support their neighbors in need.

In the past year, they have made 977 home visits where they helped 548 families with rent, utilities, prescriptions, medical bills, gas cards, bus passes, food, and other necessities. As a volunteer organization, it relies on fundraising to support this mission.

The Spring Fling will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 18, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19. There will be raffle prizes, bake sale items, and a clothing drive.

Prizes include golf for four, a winter getaway in the Dells, a Kindle Fire, tickets to Chicago Cubs games, local theaters and restaurants, items for children, and gift baskets. For information, call (847) 289-2222.
