S. Elgin animal shelter offers monthly kids program

Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. LaFox in South Elgin, invites you to join “Kids & Critters.”

“Kids & Kritters” sessions are two-hour interactive animal encounters where participants, age 9 to 12, will learn about animals, engage in hands-on activities with shelter residents, and have fun. Each month, a new topic will be explored.

The cost is $10 per session so plan to join them once every month. This program is also good for any small group: Boy/Girl Scout troops, clubs, even birthday parties. Dates, times and age range are flexible for group registrations.

Sessions are held from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and 4 to 6 p.m. Thursdays. Registration is limited and taken on a first-come, first-served basis one month prior. You can request available class dates or register by emailing cmeyer@andersonanimalshelter.org or by calling (847) 697-2880, ext. 51.
