Elgin Lions to hear from Kane County naturalist at next meeting

A representative of the Kane County Forest Preserve District will speak at the next Elgin Lions Club meeting at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Holiday Inn, 495 Airport Road, Elgin. The public is invited to the meeting. The naturalist, along with describing the areas in the district, will be able to answer questions about the wildlife and vegetation that can be found in the approximately 65 properties and 19,932 acres owned by the district. The district properties include shelters, bike trails, equestrian areas, camping areas, boating and fishing facilities, golf courses, a lodge, and Elfstrom Stadium. These facilities and areas are jewels that district residents can use.
Those wishing to attend must notify the club on the Elgin Lions Club answering service at (847) 289-4206 and leave a message. Advance notification is necessary to provide adequate seating and meals.
