ECC holding auditions for spring production of ‘Into the Woods’
Submitted by ECC
Elgin Community College Musical Theatre announces auditions for the spring production of the “Into the Woods,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine. Directing and choreographing the musical is Konnie Kay. ECC professor John G. Slawson is the artistic and musical director.
The Brothers Grimm and Broadway collide in this epic musical fairy tale. The story starts with a baker and his wife wishing for a child, Cinderella yearning to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack (of beanstalk fame) attempting to get milk from his cow. They soon discover that getting what you want comes with consequences and “Happily Ever After” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Auditions for men and women are available by appointment from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
