Crisis Line seeks volunteers to man hotline

Economic strife has produced increased feelings of anxiety and depression. This has led to a significant increase in the volume of Crisis Line calls.

The Crisis Line of the Fox Valley offers free, supportive counseling and referrals to community resources.

They are looking for empathic individuals with good communication skills to participate in the 10-week Crisis Line training program. Classes start on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Association for Individual Development’s Behavioral Health site located at 1230 N. Highland Ave., Aurora.

The training focuses on mental illness, crisis intervention, suicide, addictions, abuse, and community resources. For questions, or to register, call Cheryl at (630) 966-4304.
