Administer Justice recognizes volunteers at brunch in Elgin

Submitted by Administer Justice

On April 14, Administer Justice, a nonprofit charitable legal aid organization, recognized and celebrated its many dedicated and faithful volunteers. The annual Volunteer Appreciation Event, held at the Elgin Country Club, was a time of celebration as volunteers enjoyed brunch and an inspirational message from the Rev. Tom Atchison of Fox Valley Church in West Dundee. A time of worship with live music was provided by Josh Caterer of the Smoking Popes, who was accompanied by violinist Lydia Jodrey.

Volunteer attorney Pam Brunkalla of Marengo received the True Justice Award for her outstanding commitment to providing legal assistance to those in need.

Last year, 700 volunteers donated more than 10,000 hours to Administer Justice, assisting staff in providing a comprehensive program of educational outreach, legal assistance, government intervention and conflict resolution services to more than 6,100 low income individuals. “Each year hundreds of our faithful volunteers selflessly give their time, energy and expertise to help those who have nowhere else to turn. We simply could not provide these services and have the impact we are having on our community without our many dedicated volunteers,” according to Karen Hippchen, volunteer services director.
