‘A Night to Paws’ Anderson Animal Shelter’s largest fundraiser
Anderson Animal Shelter will host a “A Night to Paws” gala dinner and auction Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Q Center in St. Charles.
In 1985, 19 years after Anderson Animal Shelter was founded, this special event was established. Now, 27 years later, “A Night to Paws” is the shelter’s largest fundraising event of the year.
It includes dinner, a silent and live auction. There will be hundreds of silent and live auction items that will engage people of all interests. Some of the prizes include vacation resort trips, sporting events, theater packages, private fine dining, and more. Gift baskets are also available for every member of the family, including your four-legged friends.
A number of businesses support the event year after year and do so in a variety of ways.
“We are fortunate to have the support of so many wonderful companies and individuals, but the needs are endless and we are always looking for more friends and partners,” said Cindy Green, Gala chairwoman.
This year, the Petco Foundation is supporting the event as the Presenting Sponsor. Beth Mars, director of operations and development for the foundation, said, “The Petco Foundation has served as a voice for companion animals across the country since 1999. Each year, we help animal-welfare organizations like Anderson Animal Shelter find loving homes for orphaned pets, as well as fund spay and neuter efforts, animal-assisted therapy programs and humane education. We are proud to sponsor this annual event and celebrate Anderson Animal Shelter.”

Custom gift baskets are still needed across several categories, including, sports, home and garden, auto, and health, wellness and beauty. Businesses that wish to expand their reach or showcase their products and services are encouraged to create a custom gift basket with various items that would be included in the silent auction.
Whether you are a companion animal advocate, a community champion, or a pet owner, individuals and families are encouraged to purchase tickets or a table to attend the event and be a part of the excitement.
“A Night to Paws” generates thousands of dollars that directly impact the lives and futures of the animals in their care. The shelter’s success is directly related to the support they receive from individual and corporate supporters or sponsors.
