Immanuel Lutheran Bobcats gear up for state with tourney wins

The Bobcats of Immanuel Lutheran School, in Palatine, gear up for the upcoming Lutheran Sports Association Illinois State Basketball Tournament by winning prestigious tournaments.

The boys’ varsity team traveled to Peoria to defend its title at the 16-team Christ Lutheran School 62nd annual Basketball Tournament.

They completed their tournament three-peat by defeating host Christ Lutheran-Peoria (34-2) with an impressive 45-23 final score.

The boys’ team remains undefeated at 25-0 and is the number one seed in the Illinois LSA tournament being held March 2-4, at St. Peter Lutheran School in Arlington Heights.

Equally impressive were the Lady Bobcats who traveled to Christ Lutheran School in Stevensville, Mich., for the Crusader Classic Tournament. There they won the eight-team girls tournament and improved their overall record to 21-3. They, too, are seeded number one at next weekend’s state tournament.

The Immanuel varsity cheerleaders also competed in Peoria at Christ Lutheran School’s annual cheer competition where they placed third.
