So much for the American Dream
The purpose of government is to protect our liberties so we can take care of ourselves and live the American Dream as we envision it.
Instead, government is growing bigger by the day and limiting our liberties.
As it grows, it forcibly confiscates more and more of our income to keep feeding the monster. In the end, a government that controls our income is a government that rules us as subjects.
We spend billions on programs to provide food, to provide health care, to provide housing, to provide education and to even provide free bus rides.
We are becoming a nation dependent on government instead of ourselves.
We give up our freedom when we allow others to make decisions for us or to support us financially.
Politicians practicing these policies are not compassionate or charitable.
They are thieves and cheats, plundering from those who pay for the programs and steal the self-respect from those who grow to depend on them. It is economic slavery in both cases.
A free roof over your head, free health care, three meals a day, and free clothing may sound nice at first, but there is only one government program that can successfully administer all those things well — prison.
Big government is destroying the American Dream.
