Marengo man killed in crash

A Marengo man was killed in a one-car crash on Route 20 in unincorporated Coral Township, officials announced.

Kenneth D. Dennison, 58, of the 100 block of Taylor Street, was heading westbound on Route 20 in unincorporated Coral Township Wednesday when his 2001 van left the roadway, ran through a ditch, traveled across a field and slammed into a tree, authorities said.

Authorities added officials from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, McHenry County Conservation Police and Huntley Fire/Rescue responded to the crash, but Dennison was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was not wearing a seat belt, authorities said, but the front air bags deployed.

The investigation is continuing by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Traffic Crash Investigations Unit and the McHenry County Coroner's Office, authorities said.
