Improv Playhouse to stage Narnia classic

The C.S. Lewis classic “The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe,” an Improv Playhouse Young Actors Workshop production, is set for this weekend.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 2-3, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center, 2007 Civic Center Way.

This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into Narnia.

The action, with a cast of 23 from around Lake County, features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7.50 for children and seniors. Call (847) 968-4529 for nonprofit and school group rates or visit www.improvplayhouse.com.
