Teenager accused in Wis. school arson
OCONTO, Wis. — A 16-year-old boy is accused in a juvenile petition of starting the fire last week at a church school in Oconto Falls.
WLUK-TV reports the boy faces allegations of arson, attempted arson and burglary.
The fire caused $2 million damage at St. Anthony School.
Court documents say the teen told authorities he started the fire at the school on Feb. 21. The teen said he “was inside the school screwing around and was responsible for starting the fire inside the school.”
Prosecutors want the boy sent to adult court. A hearing is set for March 9.
The boy remains in detention.
Classes for students at St. Anthony resumed Monday at Grace Lutheran Church.
