$250,000 bail for Naperville man facing child porn charges
A DuPage County judge set bail Thursday at $250,000 for a Naperville man accused of possessing hundreds of images of child pornography.
Duane Lipinski, 44, was arrested after police executed a search warrant at his home on the 600 block of Milton Drive, capping a six-month investigation Tuesday.
Prosecutors said Naperville police had identified Lipinski making child pornography available for download online. On Tuesday, they seized at least two computers containing hundreds of illegal images from his home, Assistant State's Attorney Anne Therieau said in court.
Lipinski told police he was “intrigued” by child pornography and had been collecting it since 2006, Therieau said. She said he admitted having images of children as young as 12 months old.
“The images are graphic and very disturbing,” Therieau told Judge Elizabeth Sexton. Lipinski is facing four counts of aggravated child pornography, a charge punishable by up to seven years in prison. If convicted, he also would have to register as a sex offender for life.
Sexton set bail at $250,000, meaning Lipinski would have to post $25,000 to be released. The judge also ordered him to have no contact with minors, no computer access, and to wear a tracking device should he bond out of the county jail.
Lipinski's next court date is March 15 in front of Judge Daniel Guerin.
