Naperville police suspend investigation into missing boy

Daily Herald report

Naperville police have suspended their investigation into a report of a child being led into a wooded area by an adult late Monday afternoon.

Officers reinterviewed witnesses and checked with area schools Tuesday in the wake of a six-hour search Monday at Country Lake Park, 736 Genesee Drive, that didn’t turn up anything unusual.

Two witnesses called police at 4:50 p.m. Monday after seeing the boy with the man headed toward the woods. Officers found an abandoned Mongoose bicycle in the area where the boy was last seen.

Police said they haven’t received any reports of missing children.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at (630) 420-6173.
