Night life events: Try New Holland brews at beer dinner

Your beer + some food

Get acquainted with several New Holland Brewing Company beers at a beer dinner hosted at Glenview House. Pairings include the following brews: Envious, Beerhive Tripel, Imperial Hatter, Charkoota Rye and Dragon's Milk. Food pairings include a foie gras popcorn crusted lamb chop, Madagascar head-on prawn, Faygo rock and rye brined barbecue chicken and green tea and chocolate fried ice cream. Drinks and dinner begin at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 7. The cost is $55 per person, all inclusive.

New dog in town

Bulldog Ale House recently opened a second suburban location in Roselle, offering 72 different beers on tap. Wednesday specials include $3 you-name-it drinks. Thursday specials are $2 pints with 32 different beer choices.

St. Practice Day

Get prepped for St. Patrick's Day with a St. Practice Day pub crawl in Chicago. Start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Timothy O'Toole's with $3 Miller Lites, $3 Coors Lights and $4 Jameson shots. Move on to D4 for some $5 Big Apple drinks made from Jameson and Crispin Cider. Hit PJ Clarke's for $5 cocktails and conclude at Lizzie McNeill's for $4 Jameson shots.
