Illinois food companies featured at Products Expo

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois food companies will market their products this weekend in Springfield at the annual Illinois Products Expo.

Fifty-four Illinois companies will offer free samples of their products. In all, 77 companies are planning to participate Saturday and Sunday at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Many of the Expo's food offerings can be purchased to take home. They include fresh meat products, gourmet seasonings and sauces, homemade jams and jellies and specialty dressings.

Beverages also will be available. Expo visitors will have wines from 19 vintners and beer from two breweries to choose from, as well as coffee and soda. Food samples are free, but there is a charge for the drinks.

Admission is $5 and free for children 10 and younger.
