Learn about insects and plants in Libertyville

Insects and Plants: an Intricate Relationship is the topic of the Lake County Audubon Society’s general meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 5 at the Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave. The public is invited to hear Laura Rericha, a wildlife biologist for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, discuss the intricate and unique relationships that insects have with plants in the region. The talk will include but is not limited to weevils, leaf beetles, native bees, and ants. Rericha specializes in the ecology and taxonomy of plants and insects and is co-author, with Gerould Wilhelm, of “Flora of the Chicago Region: A Taxonomic and Ecological Synthesis,” soon to be published.
