Indy woman finds boy, 2, in diaper on doorstep
INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis woman who heard a banging on her front door found a 2-year-old boy chilled and wearing only a diaper on her doorstep.
The Indianapolis Star reports that the 24-year-old woman brought the crying child inside, wrapped him in a blanket and called 911 shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday.
The boy was red from being out in the cold and police determined that the toddler had wandered away from his family’s nearby apartment while his father slept and after his mother had left for work. A 9-year-old brother was also at the apartment on Indianapolis’ south side.
The boy was taken to Riley Hospital for Children and was later released in good condition to his family after child protective services was notified.
