United to fly between Chicago and Sarasota, Fla.

United Airlines said Monday that it plans to begin daily non-stop flights between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Sarasota, Fla., beginning in November.

The once-daily service will begin on Nov. 4 and operate using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 154 seats, with both first class and economy plus class options.

United said the new route fits in well with its existing flights between Chicago and eight other cities in Florida. It also will give travelers from the Sarasota area easy access to United's Chicago hub and its over 600 flights and 150 destinations, the airline said.

In midday trading, shares of United Continental Holdings Inc., the parent company of both United and Continental Airlines, slipped 2 cents to $20.39 per share.
