Driver cited in Arlington Heights rollover crash

A 45-year-old Des Plaines man was ticketed for three offenses Sunday morning after a rollover crash at the intersection of Golf and Algonquin roads in Arlington Heights left a second driver injured, authorities said.

Antonio Sanchez, of the 500 block of Touhy Avenue in Des Plaines, was cited for improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license and driving without insurance, Arlington Heights police said.

The other driver, identified as a man in his 70s, was transported by ambulance to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights with what were described as minor injuries.

According to police, Sanchez’s Honda Civic was turning right from Golf onto Algonquin at about 10:45 a.m. when it collided with the second vehicle, a Mercury Mariner which was westbound on Algonquin. The collision caused the Mercury to roll over on its roof, authorities said.
