Elgin police reports
Ÿ A man was robbed at gunpoint at about 6 p.m. Friday while he was walking on Lincoln Avenue east of Liberty Street, police said. The victim described the robber as possibly Hispanic or African-American, 5 feet 7 inches, and 160 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, a dark blue jacket, blue jeans and a dark scarf over his face. The victim said the robber struck him in the head and demanded he give him his valuables, which included $300 in cash, a cellphone, debit card and a state ID. The victim had no visible signs of injury and refused medical treatment, police said.
Ÿ A woman reported her wallet was stolen about 1 p.m. Friday while she was waiting for the valet service at Grand Victoria Casino. The victim said she was pushed from behind by a man who then walked out of the building. A few minutes later she discovered her wallet was missing from her pursue, which was open. The wallet contained $20 and credit cards. The victim described the man as white, 5 feet 9 inches, and 175 pounds, with short brown hair and a gray mid-length coat.
