Elgin man faces sexual assault charges
An Elgin man is being held on $1 million bail for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
David C. Montes, 33, of the 200 block of Silver Court, is charged with committing sexual acts with two children younger than 13 between January 2004 and December 2011, according to court documents.
Montes knew the victims, but was not a relative, according to the Kane County Child Advocacy Center — the agency investigating the case.
Montes appeared in Kane County bond court Wednesday on four felony charges of sexual assault and sexual abuse. He must pay $100,000 in bond to be released before his next court date, scheduled for Friday in St. Charles.
