General Eectric, Cegelec win $320 million Algeria contract
General Electric Co. and Cegelec SA won a 240 million euros ($320 million) contract to build a power plant with a generation capacity 400 megawatts, the Algerian state Company of Electricity Generation, or SPE, said in a statement published in the El Moudjahid newspaper.
The American-French group will deliver power from the plant, located in Messerghine about 400 kilometers (250 miles) west of the capital Algiers, within 28 months from the final award of the project, according to the company.
