Unique encaustics exhibit in Bartlett

Arts in Bartlett Village Gallery February Exhibit is by Maeve Young Erickson, and is titled, “Encaustics: Something New That’s Very Old.” Encaustics are hot wax paintings using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added.

The works on display through Feb. 29 at the Village of Bartlett 2nd floor Art Gallery, 228 Main St, Bartlett. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday.

The public is also invited to a free reception with refreshments and time to visit with the artist, 5:30-6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21.
