Library board hears Cook house pitch:

The men who have proposed restoring the exterior of the historic Ansel B. Cook house in downtown Libertyville pitched the project to the Cook Memorial Public Library District board on Tuesday night. The house, which is in Cook Park with the town’s library but is owned by the village, needs $20,000 worth of exterior repairs, Mike Foley and Roch Tranel said. They’ve proposed raising the money through community donations and other means. They’d like to have the money raised this spring and to start the work May 1. The proposal was received warmly by the library board, but the panel took no action on it.
