Teen accused of burying newborn won’t be charged
WAUWATOSA, Wis. — A Wauwatosa judge says there will be no criminal charges for a Shorewood teen accused of giving birth in her bathtub and burying her baby in the back yard.
WISN reports the 16-year-old was about six months pregnant but hadn’t told anyone when she gave birth in her bathtub last August.
The girl’s mother discovered the baby a month later, wrapped in four bags and buried.
The girl told police the baby was stillborn.
At a hearing Monday, children’s court Judge Karen Christenson says there was no definitive testimony about whether the baby was born dead or alive.
