Police: Indy man sought after firing at trooper
SEYMOUR, Ind. — Authorities are searching for an Indianapolis man who fled on foot after allegedly shooting at a state trooper near a southern Indiana highway.
State Police say a trooper pulled over a pickup truck driven by 35-year-old John Michael Fish on Monday night for a traffic violation when Fish fired a shot at the trooper, who returned fire. No one was injured in the exchange of gunfire.
Police say Fish fled on foot after the shooting into a wooded area along U.S. 50 just east of Interstate 65 in the Seymour area about 50 miles south of Indianapolis in Jackson County.
He remained at large Tuesday morning and police says he's considered to be armed and extremely dangerous.
