No injuries in Naperville apartment fire

No injuries were reported but a Naperville family was displaced Monday night by a kitchen fire in a seventh-floor apartment on the 700 block of Royal St. George on the city’s north side.

Firefighters responded at 10:46 p.m. and found smoke in the hallway on the top floor of the seven-story structure.

They were able to extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes, authorities said, but remained for another 45 minutes to clear the smoke from the building.

Firefighters said the apartment is uninhabitable and building managers moved the residents to another unit in the complex.
