Illinois Commerce Commission approves Aqua rates
CHICAGO — The Illinois Commerce Commission has approved new water and sewer rates for Aqua Illinois customers after cutting more than $1 million from the company's request for new revenue.
Aqua provides service in some communities in northern and central Illinois. The new water and sewer rates are expected to show up on bills going out next month.
The utility proposed new rates in April of last year, saying it would generate approximately $4.2 million in additional annual revenue from water customers and about $1.2 million in additional revenue from sewer customers.
The Commission approved approximately $3.16 million in new revenue from water customers and approximately $925,000 in new revenue from sewer customers.
The new average monthly bill for residential customers is expected to range from $25 to $70.
