St. Patrick School's Eighth Grade Academic Fair
EIGHTH GRADE ACADEMIC FAIR AT ST. PATRICK SCHOOL-WADSWORTH
On Wednesday, February 15, 2012, St Patrick's Eighth Grade students participated in an Academic Fair. A total of fifty-seven participants presented an individual visual display and gave an oral presentation on a variety of topics to a panel of sixteen judges. Certificates and ribbons were awarded.
Wednesday's judging was a culmination of twelve weeks of hard work by the students. Topics ranged from Michael Jackson to the traditional Japanese art of Origami and just about everything in between. After conducting extensive research students compiled information into an essay, an oral presentation and a visual display.
St. Patrick Junior High English teacher Ms. Adele Smith feels the extensive academic projects prepare students for future High School assignments. β I believe this project gives them a great foundation,β says Smith. βIt's also a great way to increase student interest since the students choose their own topics.β
Congratulations to all of the participants. Their hard work and dedication paid off!
