Chicago Express comeback falls short
The Chicago Express engineered a comeback that came up a goal short in a 4-3 loss to the Gwinnett Gladiators at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates on Friday night.
With the Express trailing 2-0, Evan Stephens scored at 14:52 of the second period on an assist by Maxime Gratchev to cut the deficit to a goal.
The Express tied it at 2-2 just 46 seconds into the third period when Pierre-Luc Faubert notched his 15th goal, with Darcy Campbell getting the assist.
But the Gladiators scored on a power play and then added a short-handed goal to take a 4-2 lead.
Gratchev notched a power-play goal with 6:12 left, but the Gladiators held on for the win.
