Northwestern (15-9, 5-8)
When: Saturday, 6 p.m. at
Welsh-Ryan Arena
TV: Big Ten Network
Radio: WGN 720-AM
Skinny: The Wildcats were hoping for at least a split on the road but ended up 0-2 after losses to Purdue and Indiana, thus making Saturday’s matchup against the Gophers a virtual must-win. The last time the two teams met, Northwestern missed its first 14 field goal attempts and dug itself a deficit it couldn’t come back from in a 75-52 loss in Minneapolis. All eyes are sure to be glued to John Shurna (1,884 points) on Saturday as he attempts to surpass Billy McKinney (1974-77) as the leading scorer in school history. Shurna trails McKinney by just 16 points.
