Dairy warns of unpasteurized milk

OSSEO, Wis. — A Wisconsin dairy is warning customers not to drink some of its whole milk because it may not be properly pasteurized.

Castle Rock Organic Dairy Plant of Osseo says the whole milk is dated Feb. 29 and carries the brand name “Castle Rock Organic Farms.”

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection tested the product and confirmed that pasteurization may have been inadequate. Food safety officials are unaware of any illnesses caused by the product.

The milk was sold in half-gallon and quart glass bottles. It has a sell-by date of Feb. 29 and dairy plant number of 55-1951 on the bottle. It is believed to have been distributed in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.

Consumers who have this product in their homes should discard it.
