Many are just too lazy to recycle

The streets, parks and parking lots in DuPage County look like trash dumps. They are littered with plastic water bottles, beer cans and bottles, pop cans.

Some states have a five cent deposit on each can or bottle, at the time of purchase. These states have redemption centers; when people bring in these items they get their deposit money back. This trash is not all over their streets and in their landfills. This is good for the environment and the redemption centers create jobs.

Some of the towns in DuPage County are required to recycle these items, but many people are too lazy to recycle, and the recyclable items go right into their garbage, and landfills.
