Caged dog nothing compared to abortion

At first, I had to laugh at Mr. Koller’s Feb. 4 letter about a column by Susan Estrich published on Jan. 20. In it Estrich expressed concern about Mitt Romney’s character in relation to an alleged motor trip taken in a crowded car with the family dog in a cage on the roof. At first, I thought Koller’s letter was hilarious.

I no longer think his letter is very funny after thinking about Estrich’s position expressed in other columns.

Her concern for a dog in a cage on the roof of an automobile is a tragedy in light of her position on the “right of a woman to choose.” This “choice” frequently leads to the death of an unborn human being, sometimes by literal dismemberment in the womb.

In the 1970s, when I was in graduate school, I took a course in business ethics. I still remember the professor remarking that in the America of that time we seemed to have our rights and powers totally confused. This confusion continues to spread into other areas besides the right to life.

It looks to me that we no longer seem to understand that no one has the right to do wrong.
