Wis. dispatcher suspended for not reporting man
GRAND RAPIDS, Wis. — A Wood County sheriff’s dispatcher is on suspension in the case of a man now missing for a month.
Grand Rapids Police Chief Dave Lewandowski tells WSAW-TV a 911 call was made to Wood County just before 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 14 about a man walking with a limp on the side of a highway.
The dispatcher who took the call never alerted police. Later that day, the family of Greg Senn reported the 29-year-old missing.
Police believe the man on the road that morning was Senn. He is 5-foot-10 with black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing jeans and a black jacket.
The dispatch manager says the dispatcher has several years experience. An investigation is under way to see if the call was handled properly.
