Search continues for missing Peoria man
PEORIA — The search continues for a 73-year-old Peoria man with Alzheimer’s disease who’s been missing since Sunday afternoon.
John Garrett was last seen at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday near the entrance to Sommer Park.
The (Peoria) Journal Star reports that the county sheriff’s department will set up a mobile command post at the park Thursday and Friday before more trained search crews return on Saturday.
More than 200 volunteers have helped searched for Garrett.
Sheriff’s Capt. Dave Briggs says police are asking residents near the park to check their property and be aware of searchers in the area.
