Round Lake Beach essays:
Round Lake Beach’s 75th Anniversary Committee invites all fourth- and fifth-graders who reside in the village to participate in a contest for budding authors. Create an original story on one of the following topics: What do you think it was like to live in Round Lake Beach 75 years ago; What is it like to live in Round Lake Beach in 2012; What do you think it will be like to live in Round Lake Beach in another 75 years. Paper can be picked up at Round Lake Beach Village Hall, 1937 North Municipal Way beginning Feb. 21, or children can use standard copy paper. Check out the historical idea in the children’s section of the Round Lake Public Library for inspiration. The display will be featured through the end of February. Stories will be due by April 13. Drop them off at village hall, Attn: Margie Cleveland for binding. All students will receive a ribbon and be invited to a future reception to display their stories at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center. Books will be returned to their authors at the reception.
