Eight injured in shuttle bus crash on I-90 near Des Plaines
Eight people were injured in a crash involving a shuttle bus on the Jane Adams Memorial Tollway Thursday night near Des Plaines.
A vehicle rammed the back of the hotel shuttle bus in the westbound lanes of I-90 just west of Mannheim Road at 6:43 p.m., police said.
The bus then crashed into a vehicle in front of it, causing a wreck that shut down three westbound lanes for more than an hour, said Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Susan Ewald.
It is unclear which vehicles the injured were traveling in, but police said all the injuries were minor.
Three people were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, two to Alexian Brothers, two to Northwest Community Hospital and one to Glenbrook Hospital, police said.
All lanes were reopened at 8:54 p.m.
