Slaughter offers IFL contract to Randy Moss

Randy Moss to Chicago?

If the Chicago Slaughter gets its way, that would be the case after the team offered the former star receiver a contract to play with the Hoffman Estates-based IFL team for the 2012 season.

Details of the contract offer to Moss, who played 13 seasons in the NFL and is fifth all-time in career receiving yards, have not been released.

“We’ve been looking for another receiver that can separate themselves from the cover guys in this league,” Slaughter president and general manager Jeff Sedivy told goifl.com. “Moss would be a perfect fit.”

If Moss, 35, decides to sign, he would become the second former NFL standout receiver to join the IFL for the 2012 season. Earlier this year, Terrell Owens signed with the Allen Wranglers of Texas.

The Slaughter opens its 2012 season Sunday at the Sears Centre against the Bloomington Edge.
