Grayslake North nixes North Chicago
Grayslake North's girls basketball team won a game in the state tournament for just the second time in its young history Wednesday night and reached 20 wins for the season in the process.
The fourth-seeded Knights edged No. 13 North Chicago 46-44 in the Class 3A Chicago Northside regional semifinals.
The win for Grayslake North (20-8) was its second over North Chicago this season and avenged last season's state playoff-opening loss.
Grayslake North will play No. 5 St. Viator in Friday's 7:30 p.m. regional final.
