Bartlett nightclub shooter remains at large

A man who was shot in the head early Sunday morning at a Bartlett dance club remains hospitalized in stable condition while the shooter remains at large, according to police. The suspect shot the man in his early 20s with a small-caliber bullet, which may be the reason he is still alive, police said. The victim was shot in the foyer area of the Cadillac Ranch at about 3 a.m. Sunday. Full story.

Bail set at $1 million for driver in fatal Addison crash

A Chicago man who is accused of smashing into an Illinois State Police squad car on I-290 near Addison, killing one man and injuring the trooper, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Daniel C. Clark, 32, has been charged with aggravated DUI involving death and a second count of aggravated DUI involving great bodily harm. Frank S. Caruso, 42, of Brookfield was in the squad car and died in the crash. Full story.

Fundraiser participant climbed Oak Brook Terrace Tower 12 times

About 750 climbers from the city and suburbs scaled the Oak Brook Terrace's 31 flights of stairs yesterday in support of the American Lung Association. While most participants climbed the stairs one, two or three times, an ALA spokeswoman said one climber made it up and down the 31 flights 12 times in an hour. Full story.

Man shot in neck during Downers Grove domestic incident

Downers Grove police are expected to release more information today regarding a shooting that injured a man yesterday afternoon. The victim was shot in the neck during what was described as a domestic situation. A woman was in custody last night, but police would not comment on whether she had been charged. Mount Prospect native gains ground in film industry

Matt Glasson first felt the tug to be a filmmaker when he saw "A Clockwork Orange" while a freshman at Prospect High School. Now, the Mount Prospect native is planning a trip to Chicago from his residence in New York to screen his first film, "Love Stalker." #8220;I'll probably be nearly broke when I get back to New York,#8221; Glasson said with a laugh. #8220;But honestly, I feel so lucky to have made this movie." Traffic

Numerous accidents to report this morning. A rollover accident is slowing things down on the outbound Jane Addams Tollway at Arlington Heights Road, while a second crash at the outbound Edens at Old Orchard Road is also causing some delays. A third accident is causing delays at Route 120 and N. Fish Lake Road in Volo. People should be careful of construction on Milwaukee Avenue between Route 120 and Peterson Road in Libertyville. Rough road trip, but Bulls are still on top

Now that the Bulls' monstrous nine-game road trip finally has ended, this might be a good time to check the big picture, Mike McGraw writes. After losing at Boston 95-91 yesterday, the Bulls have played 20 games on the road, compared to 10 at home. They've also endured a long list of missed games because of injury #8212; 18 and counting for Richard Hamilton, seven each for Derrick Rose and Luol Deng.
