West Aurora upsets Downers South

A team effort lifted No. 9 West Aurora to a 59-51 upset win over No. 8 Downers Grove South on Tuesday at Class 4A Bolingbrook regional.

Lexi Nelson led the way with 15 points and 3 assists. Freshman Alexis Wiggins had 5 assists and 3 steals, Abriya Zeitz 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, Dazmine Chaney 8 points and 4 assists, Liz Skaggs 10 points and 10 rebounds and Taylor Jacobsen 9 points and 6 rebounds.

West Aurora (15-11) advances to Thursday’s championship game against No. 1 Bolingbrook, a 92-19 winner over Downers Grove North on Tuesday.
