Freedom Shrine fundraiser
The Antioch, Lake Villa, Lindenhurst Exchange Club is hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 19, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Antioch VFW, 75 North Ave. The event will raise funds for a Freedom Shrine at Antioch High School. The shrine is a collection of 32 framed historic documents from the 1600s to 1900s, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, as well as the Treaty of Paris and the Emancipation Proclamation. The cost of the shrine is $1,200. Tickets for the event will be sold at the door, and costs $5 for adults and $4 for children. All proceeds from the breakfast will go toward the project.
