Grainger January sales increase 17 percent

Mettawa-based W.W. Grainger reported sales results for January increased 17 percent over the same period last year.
Excluding acquisitions, the company said sales increased 12 percent, including 12 percentage points from volume and 2 percentage points from price, partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline from both foreign exchange and lower sales of seasonal products. U.S. sales were up 11 percent, while sales in Canada increased 17 percent and other global businesses were up 27 percent.
