Small minority getting big benefits
The state of Illinois has approximately 12.5 million men, women and children. Taxes that take away the hard-earned money from and for the support of these men, women and children directly affect the quality our lives. State of Illinois workers amount to less than 2 percent of the state’s population. They have their salary, health care and retirement pensions paid for by us — you and me. Yet we are being driven to the poor house by this handful of people, less than 2 percent!
What is wrong with this picture? When are the 98 percent of us in this state going to say enough is enough? We cannot stand by and let this tiny minority destroy the quality of life for the vast majority of us in this state.
Now is the time for them to contribute far more to their health care and pensions if they want to keep their current benefits or have them rolled back. It is ridiculous for us to pay one more dime in increased taxes.
