‘NFL Today’s’ James Brown visits St. Charles church

Submitted by Christ Community Church

James Brown, veteran sports broadcaster and host of CBS’ “NFL Today,” will speak at “WOW Weekend” at Christ Community Church.

Throughout his career, he has worked beside many well-known sports figures such as Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Dan Marino, and Shannon Sharpe. His extensive sports knowledge, as well as his likability and credibility, have earned him numerous awards including the 1998 and 1999 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Studio host for FOX NFL Sunday and the 2002 International Black Broadcasters Association’s Broadcasting Excellence Award.

In addition to his thriving career, Brown is known for his consistent integrity in the world of sports and broadcast television, striving to do “the right thing the right way, all of the time.” Larry Stratton, community impact director at Christ Community, welcomes Brown, saying, “JB is one of the most highly respected sports anchors in the business. We are excited to have him with us to share his experiences in the sports world and his keys to living a life of significance.”

Join them at “WOW Weekend” as Brown tells some great football stories and challenges everyone to fulfill their unique God-given role in order to improve the lives of others.

He will be interviewed live by the Rev. Jim Nicodem, senior pastor, at Christ Community Church, Randall and Bolcum roads, St. Charles.

Worship services are 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, and 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12.

Services will be videocast to Christ Community’s Aurora, Bartlett, and DeKalb campuses the following weekend. This is a free event, open to the public, and no ticket is needed. For more information or for directions, visit the church website at ccclife.org/jb.
