Raise a glass and help the disabled at AID benefit

By simply enjoying a burger and beer this weekend, you could help a disabled person.

Ten percent of the sales Saturday, Feb. 11, at Full Moon Bar and Grill in Batavia will be donated to the Association for Individual Development, along with 100 percent of the proceeds from raffle tickets and Jell-O shot sales.

Founded in 1961, AID is a nonprofit agency that provides programs and services for more than 5,100 people — in the Fox Valley and other communities — with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and special needs.

Its main offices are in Aurora, but other locations and training centers are in Elgin, Batavia and Yorkville.

Visitors to the Full Moon Bar and Grill on Saturday will have a number of ways in which they can support AID. Raffle tickets will be for sale with prizes donated by local restaurants, salons, bars, and businesses. All proceeds from Jell-O shot and raffle sales will be donated to AID.

The Full Moon Bar and Grill will donate 10 percent of food and drink sales to AID. There will be drink specials, sandwiches and burgers on the menu.

What would an evening out be without live music? The Full Moon’s entertainment starts at 9 p.m., with a lineup of Mike Bowen, Jud, and Unvisioned.

The Full Moon Bar and Grill, a neighborhood hangout for 20 years, is at 113 S. Batavia Ave.
