Norwegian scholarships:

The Norwegian National League of Chicago is offering scholarships and cash prizes to students of Norwegian heritage residing in the counties of Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, McHenry and Will. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has been accepted by a college or university. A $100 cash prize will be awarded to a high school student in grades 9 to 11, a $50 prize will go to a student in grades 5 through 8 and a $25 prize will go to a student in grades 1 through 4. Older students must submit an original essay on a Norwegian topic and students in grades 1 through 4 must submit an original drawing depicting a Norwegian topic. Entries must be postmarked by March 15.
