Airman killed in Vegas crash was from Channahon

LAS VEGAS — Nellis Air Force Base officials say a 23-year-old airman killed in a Las Vegas motorcycle crash during the weekend was from Channahon.

Las Vegas police and the Clark County coroner say the Honda motorcycle Airman 1st Class Ryan Joseph Callahan was riding struck a Kia Sedona driven by a 68-year-old Las Vegas woman shortly before noon Sunday in northwest Las Vegas.

Nellis spokesman Ben Newell says Callahan joined the Air Force in November 2009, and arrived at Nellis in June of 2010.

He is survived by his mother, a brother and a sister.
